Background
Paige was put up for adoption by her birth parents because they could get in trouble if the Elders found out that she existed.
She was raised by a loving family, though she had a tendency to get into trouble with skipping classes and drinking. Her adoptive parents were killed in a car accident.
Where Canon and Character go separate ways
Paige has been sent to Milieux pre-canon, after the death of her adoptive parents. Considering her history as a wild child and the school's touted success with 'troubled' kids, the social workers involved decided it was a good fit for her.
It was better than they could have imagined, since it gave her the opportunity to meet the alternate dimension versions of her two older half sisters, Phoebe Halliwell and Piper Halliwell.
Under the direction of her sisters, she is learning about magic and her family heritage.
