Background
When Dean was four, his mother died in a house fire. Well, that's what the official records say. And they're true, too. They just don't go on to add that before the fire, she'd had her stomach sliced open and been pinned to the ceiling. Or that Dean's father handed his baby brother to him to carry to safety. Or that that one incident shaped the rest of his entire life around a quest for vengeance and a hunt for the supernatural creatures that like to do things like pin young mothers to the ceiling of their baby's nursery on the kid's six month birthday, slice open their stomachs, and then burn them alive.
Then again, the Winchesters have been very careful to keep that stuff off the official records, so they'd see that as a job well done.
Where Canon and Character go separate ways
This is all Sam's fault, see. That'd be Dean's younger brother, who hates the fact that their lives are built around hunting demons, spirits, things your worst nightmares wouldn't even touch. Sam still wants to be normal. I know, pretty dumb, right? But little brothers are like that, really. What can you do. So, anyway, see, Sam decided much earlier in our little story that he wanted out and managed to convince their father to send him to a boarding school to finish high school. Dean followed a few weeks after, because, well. You carry your kid brother out of one fire, and it's your job to protect them for life, right? Right. That's what I thought.
Also, Dean is gayer than the gayest gay man in gay town. . . . Wait, no, that's not right. . . . ;D

Other
Dean loves classic rock and "mullet rock". He's been known to listen to very old school blues. He hates pretty much everything else, musically. As a matter of fact, his tastes in most things tend to date back to the 60s, 70s, and early 80s. He's just a retro kinda guy.
Dean wears a silver ring on his right ring finger, woven leather bracelets, and a golden amulet of a man with the head of a bull. We're not sure what that last one is for, yet, but he's pretty protective of it and only takes it off when he has to (or it gets stolen by a shapeshifter who wants to impersonate him).
Dean's one and only true love is his car, a black 1967 Chevy Impala given to him by his father. His philosophy is that women are for fun; cars are forever.
A quote I hope to have him use at some point: "I like my coffee like I like my women. Any way I can get it, but preferably straight. . . ."

Adventures
(will hopefully eventually include links)
Breaking into the Divine Leaf in order to find out what sort of creature Aziraphale is. Inspite of having been told by Aziraphale himself that he's an angel. Quote of the adventure: "Gayest way to die, ever" -- Dean
Being swarmed by Malt Rats at the YMCA and getting "rescued" by Sam Winchester. Quote of the adventure: "Dean! I don't care how ugly the girl is that you hooked up with when you were drunk, you shouldn't be calling her names if she's still in your bed," -- Sam
Getting attacked by gin involved to help out Millie, Pippi Longstocking, Logan Echolls, and Pip Bernadette with some djinn troubles. Quote of the adventure: ". . . Am I concussed or is she actually speaking in tongues?" -- Dean

I'll put these up when I'm not busy at work. *rocks out*
