Description
A row of retro stools run along a marble counter. On the wall behind the counter is a large chalk board with a list of flavors. Also behind the counter are mixers, syrup dispensers and other paraphernalia for making shakes, sundaes and other goodies. Another marble slab for "mix-ins" sits next to containers for various topings and ingredients that can be mixed in on demand.
A few small tables with plastic checkerboard tablecloths and wrought iron chairs sit by the door. A few more sit on the sidewalk under an awning. This outside area looks out into the park and is flanked by three hitching posts and a water trough.
On one wall is a large fishtank, the bottom lined with a plastic honeycomb over which crawls a large number of alarmingly large insects. A steady stream of bugs flows along a plastic tube that leads from the tank into a hole the wall by a door marked “Employees only.”
A hallway leads out back to a patio suitable for parties and more private alfresco dining.
A sign proclaims "Butter Honey is made from certified organic plant material."
In a corner sits a refrigerated case with other bug butter products (see Savory Cream sauces and other non frozen faux foods).
Menu
Ambrosia sells frozen bug butter that has either been flavored after creation or by feeding the bugs an exclusive diet of a particular kind of plant matter. Flavors vary, the most recent being:
